I did not have any sandpaper so I whipped out my dremel in my room and took of my HSF and started dremeling carefully. Well I didnt have much light and soon I realized the dremel penetrated through the top of the cpu. My computer wont start now and will intel return this pos. Also my motherboard was smoking!

Were you trying to lap the CPU while it was still plugged into the motherboard?

Your first mistake was trying to lap the CPU using a power tool instead of doing it carefully by hand. Which CPU was it anyway?

Wow...
That is one of the best ones I have heard lately.
Thank you for sharing your hair brained scheme with us, sorry that didn't work out for you.

Wow, first you were dumb enough to use a dremel, then you left your cpu in the mobo while you tried to do it. You fried your proc, and quite possibly your mobo, and you honestly think intel will take it back?

Sorry, but I think its time to buy a new processor.

well i just got the q6600 like a few days ago and was oc it and it got hot so i lapped. ill tell intel ups f it up..

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: (x infinity)

Intel isn't going to replace it, especially once they see a big hole in the top of the ihs.

My thoughts exactly....
But if you showed us a pic or two maybe we could help...:D

ok I can get pics in about an hour but also the processor was in upside down maby it will start up now but the side with the gol stuff? is messed up

Allright, this whole thing is a setup. Nobody is that retarded.

Yeah, it's so obviously retarded that even the most retarded guy cannot pull this stunt off.

No human being is stupid enough to attack a $500+ CPU with a dremel and expect the manufacturer to replace it. I refuse to believe anyone could be this stupid.

You did it all wrong, you should of drilled holes into the cpu. This would allow air to cool the inside of the chip...
