dreaded hd video on 6800gt

ok so all that talk about not watching hd is now biting me in the butt,

i want to watch HD on my dell 2405fpw,

already got the hdtv tuner card to record a segment and cant watch it.

so now i need a new vid card. either i get the 6600gt or some ati equiv to my 6800gt

any suggestions on what i should do? i play games at the max res 1900x1200

also needs to be agp

I would sell your 6800GT card, and buy a Radeon 850, should be able to handle high defenition tv, but Im not sure, another option is just to buy a very fast processor. (3.4Ghz Pentium, or 3400+ Athlon)

yea, selling my card to help pay for the next one was the option

can u tell me the order of ati cards like from worst to best, the x800/x850 (theres like 4 of each out there:xl,pro,etc)

have you tried the newer nvidia drivers and the windows patch for wmd hd and other hq content? i have an athlon mobile at 2.2 ghz and i have no problems with a bfg 6800gt..
you'll need windows media player 10. its worth a shot!! when i forst got my card i couldnt even get 720p to play without dropping frames now 1080 is smooth as silk... its worth a try.

Im getting a GTX for my 2405FPW. ALready had a nice card, might as well upgrade a bit while it's really not that hard to get ok money for a 6800GT. Going to a 6600GT is too backward and not enough for 1920. I'd still spend the extra on a GTX if you were looking at XT's etc. though too.
