How do I drain my watercooled computer so as to add another watercooling component?

Do you have pics of your loop? Do you have a fill port? What kind of water cooling system is it? We'll be able to help you more if we knew what you were working with.

yes it has a fill port, its one of those koolance 5.25 bay drives that is a pump+fill port, my only concern is that the pump is never ment to run without water, in fact it is not good to. I just dont see how with no pump running it can be drained.. without turning lian-li upside down, and even then you would expect residual water in the cpu cooling block itself and inside each hose.

my rig is set up:
pump--->cpu--->radiator--->pump right now and I would like pump--->cpu--->gpu#1--->gpu#2--->radiator--->pump...

cant you just take the cpu block off.. and disconnect the hoses to drain it..

YES I CAN!!!, ho man thats about as bad as getting stuck on the first level frogger

okay now that my computer parts are safe... is there anyway to make this a less messy process then just using a big cup

do I blow on the tube to flush it out? Do i get someone else to blow on the tube to flush it out? and lastly.. can the coolent be reused if the bucket is cleaned with soap (and washed obviously)

Yeah, just give it a good blow or two to get all the water out..... just don't let anyone see you do it ;)

Reusing coolant is like reusing engine oil. If you're flushing your system out anyway, start fresh.
