Sorry if this is kind of a noob question but I need to know. What is the easiest way to drain a wc rig.

depends. For some it's as easy as opening a valve....for others it's as easy as opening up their res cap.

If you run closed loop either pop a hose or cut a hose.

Draining always takes time....and the rad will hold water like nobody's buisiness. I usually just unmount the rad, put any hose on one end, and a brand new hose on the other and blow into the new hose...forcing the water out of the other end if done right.

i took a hose off the waterblock because it had enough hose to swing out of the case. just kink the hose, remove it then unkink and let it drain.

but you need to do this with the lowest part of your system

If you have a jumper cable for the PSU it really helps if you can have your pumps running during the process. Especially if you are blessed with a refill tap on the bottom side of your case like Koolance got. Then you can empty your system in no time.

yeh, draining a system can suck. i have a t line but that wasnt the problem, the problem was the rad holds a stupid amount of water that doesnt come out until you put it in exactly the wrong position, as in over your motherboard or some nonsense along those lines. then it gets everywhere. ive had to do it twice so far, one to put a new rad in, again to remove the rad I just put in because the connections were leaking.

Heh, I feel your pain Kronchev,

that was what lead to my buying an Antec P-160, so my rad can be at the bottom of the case, and have a near zero risk of messing anyof my boards up.
