I like the fact that you can just pick up and play it, but I'm getting sort of frustrated with it, especially that damn dragon. I already killed him once, and he kept coming back and I was only able to move one space at a time, so he basically killed my 300+ army, lv 10 cleric and lvl 10 wizard...didn't really appreciate that after spending 100 turns playing...other than that, I liked it overall.

There was a movement bug, I found and got that out.

I totally redid this game added new monsters, the graphics, the gameplay. Its a lot better now, no level caps for casters. =)

Its a basic war game. You have an Army, you buy food, soldiers, armor, and weapons for them. You can also recruit soldiers. You have to search the map for 3 keys, that will give you acess to the tower, in the middle of the board. Once you enter the tower battle to the end and try to save the princess.

If you played it before, its a totally new game. Try it out and leave me some feedback on my forums if you can.

I got the top score after about three tries on the easiest setting... Holy crap batman! If THAT'S easy, I would hate to see [H]ard. I was doing pretty good until my wiz got killed and then it seemed almost every square I moved to had monsters I had to fight, and the number of monsters kept growing as my army was getting downsized after every battle. then I noticed that the "desert?" was expanding from the middle and destroying the towns (i think that's what it was doing anyhow). I ran out of opportunities to raise a new army. I couldn't win enough battles to get gold to buy troops and recruiting people only gave me 4 - 7 most of the time a turn... not enough to keep up with the battles that kept coming my way. There was NO way I could even get close to the center after getting all three keys.

I am a big fan of the old Dark Tower board game too btw. I had one as a kid and a friend of mine still has his! Great for nostalgia's sake, but too damn hard to attempt a win so far.
How about some hints or strategies? Am I missing something blatantly obvious??
 
You took a lot of the pictures in the game from the cards in the Dragonmaster cardgame. Might want to check copyright there.

he obviously spent a lot of time on this (i saw it in the earlier stages and it is much more advanced now...) he deserves props for even just that...
 
played for a minute? horrid... and i like turn based games...
