Draconic Inferno

very nice case :) will definitely be stunning when it is done

posting to make the ratio of furs against non furs higher :p

Hopefully sometime week after next, some delays as I'm somewhat busy at uni :p

Will be ordering some parts soon, so, coming close to finishing!

that's going to be nice, what are the complete specs?

Hopefully, with intended speeds etc:
Amd Athlon64 3500 @ 2.6 Ghz
2GB of Corsair XMS3200
Abit AN832x
2 Leadtek PX6800GT's @ 500mhz GPU (dunno about memory speed yet)
X-Fi Xtreme music
Hitatchi deskstar 250gb Sata II

Cooled by:
Danger Den D5
Gold plated Black Ice Extreme
Nexxxos exxtreme II (like a BIX2, only more compact, and denser fins)
Swiftech Apogee
Swiftech Microres
Alphacool Silentstar Single (HDD block)
AquaComputer Aquereo 4.0 VFD

Should be fun :D

Thx for the update...but would you mind describing to me how you've got your 6800GT's running at 500MHz? Unless the cards are some kind of Ultra hybrid card or you've got some crazy voltmods done to them I just don't get it. When I had my 6800GT I had it up to 455MHz with a modded NV5 Silencer and a BIOS voltmod to push it to 1.4v. I realise that was only on air cooling, but the 6800GT's do/did not have the circuitry to remain stable and "deal with" anything about 1.4v for any length of time...and that kind of voltage is the only thing I can think of that'd be pushing those cards that far...because even on water I'm not sure any of my OC running-mates were able to take their GT's that high when they were hot $hit.

Not saying it's fake or hasn't been done...I'd just like to see or be told hot...'cus it'd be quite the feat. :)

It's not been done yet, its the intended speed.
the Leadtek 6800gt's are somewhat famous for their OC results, getting 455 on air IIRC (non voltmod).
I have water, so I guessed 500 would be an obtainable result, time will tell though :)

Don't get your hopes up...that's all I have to say.

If you're hitting 455 on air at the factory 1.3v on the GPU then you may have a change of getting close...but just don't set your standards until you're actually working with the card/OC. Again, beyond 1.4v, the only way you're going to be able to maintain any kind of real stability is through fairly involving hard(volt) mods.

Hopefully the 1.4v BIOS flash and h2O helps the cards...but it's a really bad idea to aim for any kind of clock before you've actually given it a shot, just wanted to make sure you knew that.

Basically going for the fastest I can, with 500 as the "grand prize" speed :D

Fair enough...those are some nice cards you've got there regardless...so I wish you luck, and hope that you'll be back here to let us know how things went with the OC.

Mini update!
Picture of something I'm going to get milled this week :D yay for sketchup!
thingytomill.gif

(apologies for poor image quality. looks like photoshop pwned it :/)

Yeah man, photoshop as a nasty habbit of "pwning" images when they're resized/converted.

May I humble myself and ask what it's a picture OF? :p

And here it is with the radiator/fan attached :D

Orange Fans! where did you get them? I'm having trouble finding 120mm fans that are not blue, green, or red with decent flow rate.

Akasa sell orange ones check it on their website

Nice, I'll have to check 'em out to see if there's any other colors available, as the orange fan looks fairly nice, just not my personal taste.

Interestingly Enough, the fans will hopefully be replaced with some nice Aluminium ones: black framed and orange lit :D
Perfect, eh?

Yeah man...can't wait to see it. Are they Evercool fans? i've had a few and they're not too quiet if that's what you're going for.

Not sure what brand - however I have a wonderful motherboard with built in hardware/software fancontrolling stuff :D awesome eh?

haha...very funny. :p

I know it's easy to slow 'em down...just wanted to let you know in case that wasn't planned out already.

Mini update:
Just got some stuff from alphacool, and working on the finishing the case, should have some pictures soon :D

Update :D
Finished the top section with mesh, will add a fan here if temperatures are not good enough.

Decided to take apart my vantec vortex HDD cooler, found out it has two usefull parts that could be used for other things.. as for what I do not know, anyone have any ideas?

Finished modding the mount plate for my pump - three levels of decoupling now xD

Here's a rather uninteresting picture of the case of the silentstar sprayed in black.

Here's the case assembled so far, with some initial wiring of LEDS
casesofar.jpg

And a pic of the LEDS lit up :D (may take a night shot later)

:D Coming close to finishing now.

Nice paint job....not quite sure what to make of the pics, but good job. Still lookin' forward to more updates.

Update! :D

Here Mini-Armon checks the sound absorbing foam that I placed in the base and sides of the case. Should help silence it.
miniarmoncheckfoam.jpg

Here he is positioning the pump ...
miniarmonmovepump.jpg

..and cutting lengths of tube.
miniarmoncutube.jpg

This I think is almost pure awesomeness. Very pleased with the result :D

Started constructing my loop also.

More tommorow :D

those orange LEDs you have positioned all over the case don't look very bright, or was that just an illusion?

Looks far nicer inperson - I just need a better camera lol.

Small update!
More loop progress

Decided to change the layout a bit to make it a lot easier

Installed a 80mm Arctic cooling fan to the top of the case to help with venting heat from the case
newexhaustfan.jpg

This was one of the hardest things I've had to connect tubing to. Had to remove the pump to get access. Hopefully I won't need to move this much :s
difficultplumbing.jpg

More later I hope!

Miniupdate before I head out to America :O
Here it is, the acrylic, attached to the rad.

And a higher res nightshot :D
