either you meant to spell Copyright wrong, or you suck at spelling :p

but anyways, did you have a tripod with that shot? or did you set it on something.

oh I suck at spelling and was majorly tired when I put that together. will fix when im done waking up...

nice shots! hehe, I understand the rush, but my inner critic thinks that the first shot would have been even better with maybe a second less exposure... still very nice shots!

In which direction was the train moving in the first shot? From right to left or left to right? I'm just asking because i'm curious about that little 'squiggle' in the train's lights on the left. (not sure what else to call it, heh). Good shot, though, i love the colors on the water.

The train rattles a lot (ive know this from riding it.)

it was going northbound... which in this case it came in from the left of the frame... like I said... i saw the shot... and was setting up... I didnt even have the train in mind till I saw it coming... so i rushed to catch it... i have the shot of it coming in... but its not as nice as this one. ill post the originals.

I think the squiggle is from the vibrations when his camera's mirror was flipping up ( it has a mirror because it is a SLR ). So I think the train moved left to right in the picture.

I had similar squiggles when I was taking shooting-star pictures at night ( didn't get any :( ), and found an airplane in the sky. Now I know to use mirror lockup ( which is a feature on my camera after I installed a modified firmware ) but I still don't have a remote-cord of any sort to do really long exposures.

BTW, did you use a flash to freeze you guys in the picture in the street and then walk out, or did you use ambient light and stay still for a few seconds before walking out of the picture? It looks like the apeture was really stopped down ( light post's star patterns ) but that a flash was also used ( "freezing" of you guys - parked car's tail lights in the far back -- although foreground cars don't really look "flashed" ). Could you explain the setup for that shot?

no sir... train shakes... mirror lock or whatever was on... it was my first time using it though.
edit: wow... thats funny though... i will note that... my camera was also of a pretty heavy set tripod.

first of all... cut from EXIF
Shutter speed: 3.2 sec
Aperture: 14
Exposure mode: Av
Exposure compensation: -2/3
Flash: Built-in + Red eye reduction
Flash EF guide number: 2047.97
Metering mode: Evaluative
Drive mode: Continuous: frame 1
ISO: 200
Lens: 17 to 40mm
Focal length: 17mm
Subject distance: 655 m
AF mode: Manual focus
Focus point: [- - - > -]

ok... so basically... I right when I shot the picture the flash went off... then they just calmly walked out of the picture... so the flash created the effect by catching more light at a certain moment in the long term exposure....

if that makes sense i dont know
get it now?
