Downloading but not seeing progress window

Some times when I click a link to download a file on a site to view it doesn't show the progress window but instead tells me it's downloading at the bottom of the browser like this:

it's so annoying, is there a way to prevent that and make it show me the progress window for everything i download?

you could try looking into the properties of that file type I've never really seen this problem before with Interent explorer

Does it end up being displayed in the browser? Or does it save it to a specific location, or does it open automaticly?

after it finishes it just opens up.

Change yours to this...

You can find it in CONTROL PANEL --> FOLDERS --> FILE TYPES
