Downloading apps via local account in 8.1?

Can anyone confirm whether it is possible or not to install apps using a local account in Windows 8.1?

I would like to know this too. It wont let me download unless I am signed in to my MS account.

Seems like a lot of BS to go through when they could of just made the store have it's own logon and not tie it to the computer account. Same goes for Skydrive.

I must be reading it wrong, but it looks like you still have to sign in or create a Microsoft account to download an app?

In Windows 8, I have a local account and I'm signed into the store using my Microsoft account. Not sure if the behavior is changed for 8.1.

I just checked on 8 and your right, you can use a local account and have separate for the store. I do know for certain that on 8.1 they force you to use a Microsoft account to use Skydrive (can't sign in separate).
