FUCK WINDOWS 8

First off this was a huge pain in the ass, I am posting so anyone who has ever tried to downgrade a laptop and was stuck can figure it out.

This is the problem I was having:

1) Windows 8 was not letting me into the bios. Cold boot pressing all the standard f2, del, f12, enter.... Nothing. FUCK. So I called up asus and asked how do I get to the bios, the guy walked me through the same steps then I was put on hold and finally he told me to Unplug the power and turn the computer off, then press f9 until a windows menu shows up. Now go to trouble shoot, and look for something with UEFI, click that and restart

2) Awesome, now I was in a bios like menu, limited but a menu none the less. From here go find an option to turn off secure boot. This will allow you to boot into a windows 7 CD, wait FUCK!!! It keeps freezing at the windows 7 splash screen WHAT THE FUCK AHHHHHHH. relax

3) At this point, I tried several different versions of windows and certain UEFI windows x64 windows, all failed the same. Go to the "bios" look for the CMS and Quick Boot option, turn both off and enable the ROM something Now I was in the BIOS, the real OMFG bios. You should be able to install windows 7, just format all the current partitions (including the recovery) The bios is also easy to access now via F2

This was for the Asus R503c, I just had a shitload of trouble with it and wanted to make this searchable for people who are trying to do similar stuff. Hate this post or not, its archived.

Why not just try "Classic Start Shell". It is free and makes it look and work just like Windows 7 does. Sorry that you had trouble and got rid of Windows 8. Thanks
