I narrowed my choices down to three psu
It'll need enough juice to power the following:
tyan k8we mobo, 2 opteron 265 dual core cpu's
6 hard drives
2 512mb 7800gtx video cards

My three choices are:
Seasonic s12 falcon 600w
Fsp epsilion 700w
Enermax liberty 620w

the pc p& c 850w monster is out of my budget area of consideration.

So....

What's your priority? You want a modular power supply or not?

I haven't heard about the FSP 700W PSUs. They seem decent, but I don't know how the low 15A on each of the quad 12V rails will affect performance. Why are rails split across so many separate ones anyway? There should just be one big rail, and that way nothing will suck up all of the power on one rail. I'm not an expert on this though.

I'd go with the Seasonic, but if you like pretty cables and modular design, then choose the Liberty.

I could take it or leave it, it's not really a deciding factor.
i had just taken a look at the liberty and threw it in there.
basically i'm trying to decide the best one out of three there
or if you know of something better i'm open for suggestions.

Im using the 620w liberty right now and shes pretty quiet and rails are great even heavily overclocked. the only thing i dont like is that they paired the molex and sata together in each cable. im currently talking to enermax about sending me just molex ones.

I was always on the fence between Seasonic and Enermax.
Seasonic was making power supplies before Enermax even existed.
Yet the liberty series is a step in the right direction, however as mentioned the unsleeved sata connections on sleeved molex connections completely cancels the idea of being modular.

The deciding factor for me recently happened in the clubit deal thread. Clubit was offering a pretty good deal on the liberty series PSU and Enermax forced them to raise the price. WTF

Seasonic from now on.

looks like i'm going with the Seasonic, (tried & true rep works for me)
thanks for all the help everyone!

I just bought an S12-600, if I had known there was a sleeved model I would have held out for that one. Oh, well.

The sleeved model is a performance-pc service. Not a result of Seasonic.

I'm surprised Performance-PC's doesn't have a modular, sleeved Seasonic up for grabs.

Hank would probably want to much for it, though. His handywork comes at a price. ;)
