So the titan fall launch for Xbox one has been pretty smooth minor sign in hiccups for some. I did not experience this at all not even at midnight launch got right in.

However! that caused a shit storm in several forums especially on GAF.

BUT!
The PlayStation store has been completely fucked up and they even have yet to update the Tuesday release games for PS+ . And not much has been said.

What causes this double standard.

I mean I've had little things on both happen and I kind of roll with it. Shit happens , but what causes such different reactions?

Please keep this civil I'm just curious why this is.

I understand that but the titan fall issue was so minor between myself and my son we have been in match damn near all day since launch, compared to garden warfare which still have match issues. GW using EA servers and TF using MS.

The PS store even froze my PS3 last night. Some are having purchasing issues to on other content and even purchased and installed games acting like you don't own them which is weird.

Good points. Another thing was when they just took drive club "back to formula " it was like ok whatever. I was looking forward to that not much left for me to play on ps4 right now and with witcher 3 delay there is infamous which I never got into.

That's only partially to blame though, it gets a ton of hate over there because it's all Microsoft has and in their eyes it's a poor showing considering the actual game itself.

Which game has not been updated? It's usually one a week (depending on platform) and I already have Dead Nation for PS4 and Tomb Raider for PS3.

It's by platform iirc I'll check on the Vita this afternoon and see of there is a new game available. Tomb Raider and Dead Nation both came out last week.

Its lone survivor for vita and they still haven't updated the store its all over the support forums but they still haven't said anything since the other day

Supposedly they said by tonight sometime but its 8 cst here and nothing yet.

I avoid turning my PS3 and and now PS4 on many times because I know if the service is even up it's always slow ass laggy..then there will be 10 minutes of updates, re-licensing downloaded media, password changes or some BS before I can log into fucking netflix..which needs another update as well. MP games over PS network? has never been that good.

now that we have to actually pay for it..maybe it will get better over time but I don't know sony is bleeding to death and that money will probably go into other areas.

I have no problems. Sure updates could be annoying without PS+ but not that devastating. I’ve never had any more problems playing MP online than I did on my 360. I played a lot of Uncharted 2/3, Killzone 2/3, Starhawk, BF 3 and more on PS3.

Wow, way to overexaggerate there. You should get a job making infomercials. Beyond the now infamous hack and takedown of PSN and the console's always poor wireless adapter performance, I've never had any issues. And PSN is now even better on the PS4.

PSN is good on PS4 still sucks on PS3.

A good portion of those ads which are super small compared to the ridiculous ps+ ads when you have gold are mostly game, movie deals and many times are helpful. Really aren't any ads on Xbox one some game info here and there.

It's like that because Sony is trying to push PSN+. Believe it or not it still no where near as popular or as well known as Live.

Everyone basically knows about Live since it has been around for almost a decade iirc. They are really only starting that long road as the PS3 never saw much adoption at all.

There is a huge double standard when it comes to PSN issues versus Xbox Live issues. The Xbox Live outage the day of Titanfall (well the sign in server not the whole network) was probably the only time in a very , very long time I've seen Live down unintentionally. Meanwhile the PSN goes down almost every 5-7 days although its largely regional and not the entire network at large or the PSN store goes down about every other day and that's not a joke.

Sony wants the same money as Xbox Live yet does NOT provide the same level of service. It makes up for that by giving you really awesome free games per month but honestly I've had more issues with MP games , downloading , firmware updates on the PS3 and PS4 then I ever had on the Xbox 360/One. The fact that Xbox has never experienced an outage caused by hackers that took down the network for months is also another sign of how lazy Sony is when it comes to maintaining their network.

The share video function of the PS4 rarely shares any video I post to Facebook. I've checked Facebook and been told by Facebook support that its networking issues on PSN that cause the core of the problem and that they have no control over it since its up to Sony to spool Facebook's servers for conversion and permission to post.

Also as an owner of both systems one of the biggest complaints I have against PSN and the PS4 in general .. the voice chat quality is fucking TERRIBLE. Is Sony using a codec from 1999? It sounds like the lowest bit rate possible and there is so much static regardless of what headset/setup I use I feel like I'm back in the early Xbox Live days on the first Xbox in terms of voice quality. The Xbox One has Sony beat hands down since the voice chat quality on the Xbox One is better than my landline , seriously its completely clear. Sony needs to up the bit rate of voice chat and I know the reason they've retained that awful codec and its because they don't want to deal with the increased bandwidth requirement which is inexcusable since you are paying for PSN+ on a monthly basis one way or another.

Fanboy's will argue points to death but the Xbox Live network is superior in many ways to even the paid version of Sony's network. Sony has had plenty of time and experience to know these issues need to be solved but now with an audience that is paying more for the same experience ..it will drive people away. Lots of people ditched their PS3's during the multi-month outage out of disgust and Sony is still digging itself out of that hole and they can't afford to become number 2 again in the console war.

But the arguments from both sides pretty much cancel each other out for people who have owned both systems. For a person like myself who only uses each online service for games and the gaming portion of the store, each provides the same level of service and experience which makes me prefer neither. I just happen to be on PSN more this generation than the previous, which is why I'm interested in any recent changes or differences with Xbox Live now that the XBONE is around.

Ive replaced mine with newer units and zero issues same with ps3 replaced my fat with a slim since Sony charges 100 every time to repair.

Well when you have to pay $60 just to use Netflix, you know you are getting screwed. I can understand Live is more stable/better for most, but I don't understand why you have to pay for Gold just to fucking use something that really doesn't have anything to do with their network.

I'm not talking about PSN I'm talking about "PS+", sorry I just realized I used PSN+ in my original post. PS+ has been around for awhile now and it's just now with PS4 that people are coming to terms with what it actually is.

The install base for it was ridiculously low for the PS3 era.

I only took my 360 Online two or three times, for Alan Wake DLC and to buy Shadow Complex. That interface sucked. The PS XMB interface is so much cleaner.

You realize that Sony tunnels Netflix thru their network which causes issues all the time. The best Netflix player I've ever used is actually the chromecast.

I hope Sony takes all this new ps+ money and improves their network, they couldn't even get their shit together with this weeks Tuesday store update shit was all messed up including logins until late Thursday night.

One last thing if your paying 60 for live your doing it wrong.

Sony's store interface has only managed to get worse through the versions. A billion PS+ ads on the PS4 and slow as shit on the PS3. The people designing UIs at both companies need to be slapped and told to do their jobs right.

The PS3's XMB really didn't need changing. It worked for what it needed to do. Everything was well laid out and in a spot the made sense. It was easy to find what you wanted and nothing was buried multiple layers deep. I also like how they do PSN ads on the PS3, they're easy to ignore and don't get in the way anywhere on the UI.

The 360, on the other hand, only got worse as they tried to fix it. The Blade interface never would have worked for all the features they wanted to add to the system but it was a good starting interface. NXE was the best UI they ever had. It had some issues (requiring the use of the on screen guide to access downloads has always been a very stupid idea) but over-all it worked really well. Of course with the Kinect it never would have worked and forced Microsoft to change UIs again. The Kinect UI is easily the worst. Everything is designed around the limitations of the Kinect and it only served to hamper people who didn't have one. The ads were far harder to ignore than on the PS3 and could get annoying when they were pushing something like Old Spice or whatever but were mostly fine when it was just advertising stuff related directly to the console and it's store.

So did your CC actually get affected? I know mine didn't and I have no problems with Sony.

Also on another note I agree about paying $60 is doing it wrong for xbl. I get it for $20 tops. For a year. Anybody paying more than that is doing it wrong.

Yeah unfortunately I did get affected I only buy cards now to use.

Just had to get new cards because of Michaels craft stores, buy a lot of my daughters art supplies there. Only using cash there now the bastards.

Kind of off topic here, but the good thing about a CC is you can just chargeback all the fraudulent charges. I'm surprised at how many people are so clueless about the benefits of CC's.

Oh, and I never bought XBL for $60, I actually never bought it. The reason I brought it up was because I don't see why I need to pay for XBL to use netflix or HBOgo. Kind of stupid.

Out of the 77 million people I have yet to hear a single one of them getting any unwanted CC charges from the PSN hack. I know a few people personally affected by 360’s FIFA hack. Other than the inconvenient of having to get a new CC seems like the PSN hack is greatly overblown.

Yet I wouldn’t trust either PSN or XBL so I use the cards you can buy from the store. Just don’t use your CC at Target if you shop there
