So many original characters from dota! Im very excited, nearly giggle to myself they opened it with drow
You know I thought that was the assassin, I was sort of hoping they would bring back the originals. Hell even the fact tauren and sand king are coming back makes me happy!
Didn't see skeleton king though...
I haven't been so impressed with a game trailer in a very long time. I'm glad to see they're using the heroes from the original. The art direction the direction in general of that trailer was beyond fantastic. If that is any indicator of the game's quality, it will be a hit. It brought a grin to my face and a few goosebumps to my skin. Very impressed!
Until you start playing and it looks exactly like HoN and LoL.
Blizzard called, they want their Warcraft 3 units back.
No, seriously.
There's Grom, The Captain, Illidan, and several other heroes in DotA 2 who are blatant copies of units in Warcraft 3.
I understand that players are accustomed to the models used in the original DotA mod, and that changing their look would upset a large portion of the population. But seriously, they didn't need to outright copy their appearance. I mean, there's absolutely no hiding it.

There already was a six page pissing match about the graphics about twenty topics back. How many do we need? And bringing up objections over the visual prowess of this game is a legitimate topic. Like it or hate it, you can always just simply ignore the objections but telling people to go "fuck off" because you dont like it, is hardly a winning response.
I absolutely welcome this as Blizzard has great art styling and Valve is taking it and putting their own spin on it. To me it looks great.
I can assure you that I much prefer it over the League of Legends "sex sells" remakes, which generally means turning a character into a scantily clad model with 48V jugs swaying around to make the virgins happy. Seriously, it's half the game.
This betterbe everything like hon and nothing like lol.
I'm hoping it's like neither one, both LoL and HoN stink in comparison to the original dota.
LoL is quite fun, I play a lot of it, but Riot is not a good company.
That is all.
LoL has a great business model and relaxed a few of the gameplay elements to make it more accessable.
I prefer HoN for the speed/fluidness of the game...and the setting (annoucer and such). I am more looking forward to how DotA 2 plays speed wise.
We will see tomorrow I would think.
Oh not saying LoL isn't fun to play ... I play it daily mostly because it's fun to make people ragequit.
But the game itself is rather dull, rift is hour long matches of which carry can get the most ganks first then dominate the rest of the game cuz there equip is superior... treeline is so unbalanced it's not funny
I'll be interested to see how dominon pans out, since it looks like a lot of the recent nerfs were to stop heroes from being to unbalanced in it (range nerfs on skills, no casting via minimap, no global teleport skills).

No offense, but... sounds like you are playing low level games or maybe just normals. Ranked games and especially higher level ranked games are a completely different story. Average game length in ranked is more like 30-35 minutes in my experience. A lot of times people in normal games or lower elo games just don't seem to understand when to push their advantage (i.e. 5v4 situations).
In ranked, you see that advantage and jump on it, either by pushing or taking map control. If you go to take map control (baron or dragon), a lot of times if the enemy team tries to stop you you can turn a small advantage into a BIG one and really determine the game.
Not trying to be rude or offensive, just sharing my opinion after working on my smurf account the past few weeks.
To accomplish what?As many as it takes.
