DOOM E3 2015 Teaser

Hope ID doesn't screw this one up and I surely hope the new engine doesn't have all those issues like IDTech5 such as texture popping and ugly megatextures killed it for me.
 
I thought Asians in Spac... er, Doom 3 was terrible. one of the worst shooters I've ever played.

I actually uninstalled the game when I got to the escort mission. Fuck that bullshit. Whoever decided that doom needed a random scientist escort mission halfway through should have been fired on the spot.

Any fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series,or even Fallout3/New Vegas. The original DOOM was entertaining and unique for it's time,but after a while the run 'n gun games get boring.

You know, I can't even remember that part in the game. That is how much I cared about it. Seems odd that you would be so turned off by such an insignificant part of the game.

I think that was the part where you followed a scientist who lighted the way with a lantern while protecting him, although its been a decade since I played that game. :eek:

Right, I remember that now. Where it's completely dark and he's actually escorting you since you can't hold a gun and flashlight at the same time. IIRC he couldn't actually die in that segment? At least, he never did with how often I ignored him :p.

That "mission" took about 15 seconds. You walk him from one side of the room to the other. :rolleyes:

You could make your way around it, but there were EMP's that were knocking the lights out occasionally. Your flashlight wasn't immune.

Oh, and he died at the end of the segment.

That's actually my favorite part. :D For the minute or so you have to escort him, I'm always thinking, "if you're so afraid to get over there, why don't you walk a little faster?!?!?" You get him over there, and he gets killed. I always climb the ladder with a great sense of satisfaction after that. hehehe
 
Also, anyone else ever notice that half of the NPCs in the game look a lot like John Carmack? :D
 
:confused: How so? A. It hasn't been in development for anywhere near that amount of time. B. From the 3 seconds we've seen, it would be hard to draw conclusions on gameplay or graphics. C. From the 3 seconds we've seen, I think it actually looks good. Can't wait to see more!
 
That may as well have been a 3-second teaser for Fallout 3.
