What's the best score you guys can get for doom3 running at 1600x1200 2x AA, 16x AF?(if you can't run it at 1600x1200 2xAA,16AF cause you have small moniter... run it on 1280x1024 4xAA, 16xAF)
Give CPU name/speed, ram, GPU name/speed if you'd like :)

16xAF = Ultra High Details right? Unless you force it through the control panel which gives a higher performance hit.

AMD Athlon 3500+
Dual BFG Geforce 6800 GT OC SLI
1 GB Corsair XMS DDR400 PC3200

Ultra Quality @ 1280x1024 4xAA 16xAF 79.4 FPS

Ok, Im bored so I ran my rig at 1600x1200 2xAA Ultra High Quality and I got 22.4 fps.

I normally play at 1024x768 with 2xAA at High Quality and I get 37.1, which seems kinda low , but Ive played through the whole game a few times and there is only a few parts which seem slow. Im pretty happy with 1024x768 at high settings.
My specs are in my sig.

So what do you get?

Thank you! I guess to get a real score I would have to re-install the game which I am not willing to do, again.

1600x1200 @ High Quality 2xFSAA all except Vsync enabled:
52.6FPS -1st run
59.2FPS -2nd run
59.2FPS -3rd run

1600x1200 @Ultra Quality 0xFSAA all except Vsync enabled: EDIT: actually no FSAA
40.6FPS -1st run
74.2FPS -2nd run
76.9FPS -3rd run

Hardware:
BFG 6800OC @stock oc'd settings no softmods
A64 (socket 754) 3000+ @2.4ghz
512mb Crucial 8t @240mhz 3-3-3-6

Drivers:
66.93

I really find it wierd that I get better scores at ultra, expecially since I have a 128mb VC!

EDIT: nm ultra defaulted to 0xFSAA so I will run again at 2x an post results.

AMD-64 3200 2.0GHZ @ 2.5GHZ WINCHESTER 939
2X 6800 325/600 @ 420/725 SLI
DDR414 2.5-3-3-8
A8N-SLI

High quality
1600x1200 2xAA, 16x AF -- 70.3 (good if you have a 21 inch moniter like me) :)
1280x1024 4xAA 16x AF -- 66.8

Test raned at -.6 mipmapping via rivatuner

Don't forget to run the demo twice... first runs are always slower and not correct...

Wasn't aware the size of the screen makes a difference.... I've run the test on a 19" LCd and a 17" CRT and both get same scores. Oh and I wasn't aware of the 2nd time deal... new Score:
81.4 fps @ 1280x1024 Ultra Quality 4xAA 16xAF With the rig I posted above.

The monitor size doesnt make a diff, but a higher res for a bigger screen is always nice, which is what he was referring to.

If you put an extra 1 in the timedemo line it will precache the texture info instead of loading it from disk on the first run:

timedemo demo1 1

actually anything after the demo1 will cause it to precache the texture info, i just use 1

I was aware of the precaching... but I ran the test twice anyway and got a 2 fps boost on the 2nd one even though the first one was precached. I did all this while aim was running... too lazy to close it for a quick demo run.

Just for the hell of it I went ahead and forced 16xAF in driver and took a screenshot, also set it back to application control and found no discernable differance between the two, hell even the time demo showed virtually no differance. Linked below are screenshots taken at each setting, flipping between the two I couldn't find any differance in the filtering at all.

Full resolution PNG's at 1.9 meg each.

1600x1200 2xAA 8xAF Application Controled: 53.2 fps

1600x1200 2xAA 16xAF Forced In Driver: 52.5 fps

1600x1200 Ultra High 2xAA - [47.8 fps]
1600x1200 High 2xAA - [50.7 fps]
1280x1024 Ultra High 4xAA - [48.2 fps]
1280x1024 High 4xAA - [51.1 fps]

All stock clocks, specs in sig.

Quick Question: How do I run a timedemo after updating D3 with the patch? I can't bring down the console anymore with ~

That's the default unless you changed keybindings.
