Well, maybe you guys could help me out, I have

P4 3.2 Ghz
Abit IC7-Max3
Geforce 5950
1 GB Ram

I run on High quality with no Antialiasing on, 1024 x 768, I am only averaging 20-30 FPS, is that right? Its still playable by all means, Just seemd like it should be a little higher, more like 30-40FPS

This is what brought ittoo my attention.
I have read about the Cache tweak but will have too wait until tonight too try.

peace

Something is definitely wrong, considering I run at 1024x768 med detail smooth, which is around 50 fps with an oc'ed 5900xt.

Are the AGP BIOS settings right? 8x and all that. Is heat an issue?

Heat is not an issue, as Far as AGP Bios, I have no idea, not sure how too check that. But i played Far Cry and Painkiller with everything turned on...Smooth as hell. :(

I dont understand

Well shit...those drivers should give great performance...I'm assuming you have DirectX 9.0b installed?

I'm almost out of ideas...

I know man, Ive already gone through all those same suggestions. I have Direct x 9.0b, I just dont see what else it could be.

Hyperthreading. Check for it. If it's on, turn it off and rebench.

Also, they aren't using timedemo1 for their benchmark so this isn't an apple for apple comparison.

Really? Do i check for it in the game settings, or is it in my windows settings?

A. Why turn off HT?
B. Can you even do that?!?

I dont know what you are talking about, I just want to know if there is anything I can do to solve this problem. Obviously, My PC is powerful enough. Is there a setting I can Change? also, i got no performance increase when I switched from high quality 1024x768 to med. quality 1024x768...that switch alone should get me a few more FPS , but nothing. It stays at 20fps on every setting( havent checked Ultra).

with a P4 3.2 ghz
abit IC7 Max3
Geforce 5950
1 gb ram

all driver updates

I feel I should be getting a shitload better performance than 20-30 FPS. no Antialiasing is on.

Have dual monitors? Disable one.

Other than that, no idea.

set your AGP aperture to 256mb ;)

With some of the new games/demos it makes a HUGE difference. I know in the ATI Ruby demo that was hacked to play on my old 9700 it would run about 5-7FPS with agp aperture @ 64mb, ran about 29-30FPS with it on 256mb. Give it a try!

Um...

You hit whatever key gets into your bios (usually delete) and its in there somewhere... hehe. It should be under something like Advanced settings? Im too lazy to check... just scan through the different parts until you find it. As long as you dont change anything but the AGP Arperture then you should be fine.
