Doom 3 Expansion Pack Trailer

Looks like new weapons.

From what I can tell, I saw a double barreled high tech shotgun that has two shots now instead of 6 or 8 (however many the last game had). They also made their own version of a gravity gun and you can take enemy fire and shoot it back at the enemy and pick up barrels and shit like that.

As for your character, it looks like the marine from the last game but much older (like 40's or 50's) or it could be another guy.

Download it, it's worth it.

Derelict/overrun-by-forces-of-Hell bases on Mars should be dark.

It's been said over and over that the marine you play as in RoE is not the same marine from Doom 3.
 
looks dang good. i enjoyed doom3 so i expect to have a good time with this epack. :)
 
That looked fantastic. I also noticed location damage in one shot. SOme guy's arm shot off. I'm looking forward to this one.
 
Looks great!! :D I loved D3, so I'm psyched about the expansion pack. I read elsewhere that the main character wasn't going to be the Marine. It was supposed to be a member of a scientific research team, but it looks like the Marine is back. Did'ja noticed the Doom version of HL2's gravity gun? ;) :p

I think the expansion due for a late March release.
 
Looks like ID was jealous :p . Looks like it might feature some *gasp* good gameplay! I'll be picking it up when it releases.
 
I dunno about jealous. They can just sit back and know that they invented the FPS format as we know it, so borrowing a little old gravity gun....hey, they're OWED.
 
they ripping off of HL2 now.
and thats what made HL2 so special, it didnt copy of anything. Original ideas, now others are stealing off of them

They made the gun b4 HL2 even came out, give me a break and worry about something else.

Exactly, I see nothing wrong with incorporating other ideas. Like none of yall saw any of the billion zombie movies in the past year. Or the billion "asteriod smashing into earth" movies before that. Consumers pay for more of the same.

I was just kidding when I said they were jealous, it looks like it serves a slightly different purpose, being able to catch the enemies projectiles and shoot them back, although the player in the demo had horrible aim :p

Cause we all know no game before HL2 had you driving vehicles, or had you leading a squad of soldiers, or had time\space travel, or anything like that. :rolleyes:
 
LoL, because we all know that no other game b4 HL2 had humans that fight monsters, or flying ships, or buildings with windows, or guns that shoot, or 3d models, or an option menu with mouse look options and support for resolutions over 640x480. Yeah, HL2 and all it's cheesyness is so original.
 
I just watched the video and have question. Does that little fetus looking thing he picks up let him control time? Cause it looks like it does.

I read the preview from gamespot. Apparently, the player will be able to slow time with one of the three special objects. All three offer certain powers. Just think "Max Payne meets Doom 3". Everything is slowed but your character.

This expansion looks hot. Im currently replaying through the original.
 
trailer looks okay. And the fact they got their own gravity gun now...well whatever. Everybody comes up with new ideas and new weapons, and eventually there will be copycats. I mean it's not like the Gravity Gun in HL2 was super trademarked and is not allowed to be incorporated into other games. At least, HL2 will be remembered for having the first well-made super-realistic gravity gun.

From what I've read, that "fetus" thing is kinda like the anti-Soul Cube. It will allow the minions of Hell to return and overrun Earth...and only YOU stand between Hell and utter devastation.

Sounds fun! I can't wait!!
 
And i suppose the expansion pack after this one has two marines with two different soulcubes hunting each other. Ya know, if this one is this powerful, i wonder how the first one was supposed to win against the evil counterpart.

BTW, Doom3's 'Gravity Gun' was originally just a tool for moving stuff around while they were still making the levels. It was already in the game. They just added a gun model, and presto, instant gravity gun.
 
I think it's just a bit "too soon" with the whole Doom3 vs HL2 and that's why some people want to say "stupid move ya copy cats!"

But I have no problem with Doom3 and their version of a Gravity gun. Plus no one has played it yet so you have no idea how it's incorporated in the real game.

I'm kind of looking forward to this expansion. The preview reviews of the game (IGN) say the game is not as dark as it was and more open. I'll be givin it a second chance. But i never thought Doom3 the WORST game ever like some people like to make it out to be.

But as for copy cating, HL2 needs to get rid of the pistol and shotgun :rolleyes:
(but uh...I love HL2 way more than Doom3 ;) )

You do know that the grav gun was just a physics testing tool in havoc made into a weapon right... so much for original ideas.
(And gasp, d3 has a similar tool "g_dragEntity 1")

Well since fileshack and all those other places suck, im now doing some Bittorrenting and its screaming faster then a direct download. MMMMM... 150kb/s is nice, cant wait to watch this vid it is going to make me hot. :cool:

That grav gun is a lil' cheap beings that it was prob jacked from HL2, but a grav gun no matter the game is always fun. Cant wait to play, that is if my dell will play it :confused: D3 was doing 15fps on med quality :cool:
 
Isn't there SOMEPLACE where one can DL this WITHOUT using a subscription website or one where you gotta wait a long time??? Maybe a link that I can Flashget???
