i notice people on the forum saying they get 70+ frames in doom. how do you make it not cap of at 60 fps. according to fraps it wont go any higher.

thx

I might be wrong but I think that if V-sync is enabled it will max out you fps at 60 (which is likely your refresh rate). Turn off v-sync and see if your fps goes above 60.

I was just thinking the same thing...make sure vsync isn't enabled in the game or at the driver level.

Vsync doesn't matter. The game is physically capped at 60 FPS during gameplay. The benchmark is uncapped solely for comparison purposes. It wouldn't be very helpful to see every gfx card pull 60 FPS even

im sure another thread answers this but while on the topic of 60fps doom3 action, will an athlon64 3500+ GeForce 6800GT based system get that kind of performance? Assume moderate to high detail settings.

My A64 3200+, 6800 GT will, so I suppose a 3500+ system will as well.

My timedemos with system in sig: 1280X1024, 2AA, High Quality, is 64 fps.

Create a file called autoexec.cfg in the Doom3\Base folder (make it in Notepad, but make sure it saves as autoexec.cfg, rather than appending .txt on the end) and place the following line in there to uncap your FPS:

com_fixedtic -1

Like most games, Doom 3 uncapped will whizz into the hundreds on occasion and drop low on others, depending on your GPU/CPU
