Maybe Kyle or someone will have an answer to this...

When will we see doom 3 benchmarks on all of the new hardware? Like a week before the game is in stores, after its out?

I'm wondering how big of performance differnece there is between the 3 nvidia cards and the two ati cards.

So...you're pretty much saying 'you and practically no one else'? Then again, zillion is not a real number, maybe you use it as a real low number?

(By the way, I don't qualify as a smart-ass-bastard by posting this, because I'm commenting on a mis-worded sentance, not mis-typed word. Just incase you were wondering ;).)

A reviewer could get an idea by getting the beta version and running fraps on it

nope, id changed the path of doom3 since the beta leak. so the scores would be alot different from the final version. just wait until the game is out.

i bet you 100 dollars that you wont be able to find a hardware review site without doom 3 benchmarks when the game is out. :D

Still, ATi's OpenGL performance suxors.

Actually it's not bad. Just not as fast as Nvidia's. But the 4.6 Catalyst drivers have made a marked improvment in the OpenGL drivers. Since I installed them, all my OpenGL based games run much much better. As does 3D Studio Max 6.0.

They are completely rewriting their OpenGL drivers rite now. Let's see how that turns out. For now, I'm not getting either video card. :starts looking around the room with a paranoid look on his face:

Ya the 4.6 cats are sweet. Even if ATI's OpenGL drivers need more work it doesnt really matter at the moment since CoD and Q3 will run super fast anyway.

Yeah, Quake III... What's the difference between a 100FPS, and 200? Or 30 for that matter?
