When ever I play doom3 for about 5-7 minuted my audio shuts off completely. Ive got the latest drivers and have run tests to make sure my sound card is working properly. One thing that is funny is that I can turn off my suround speaker option in game then turn it back on, then everything works again. Any help would be great!!.

Ive tried that all twice. Ive re-installed and have all the latest drivers. Maybe its a pagefile thing. How big should my page file be if I have 2 gigs of ram? Or ive got something running in the background.

true, true.do a spyware scan, turn off your antivirus software, check msconfig for anything starting up when windows does. hope this helps.

What should be checked in the startup???? I dont want to turn off anything I shouldnt.

well, expand the part that says the directory, things located in the windows folder, should be checked, but things that look odd, uncheck. If you have Norton, a lot of things are there, like ccApp, ccRegVfy, UpdReg things like that, also, If you're using a Sound Blaster card, things such as SBDrvDet and CTHelper are there as well. If you're using an logitech mouse, somethign will be there, msmsgs is windows messager, you can disable that, if all else fails, use google, just type in the name of the startup item and you should find something on it.

It's the stupid game. Mine still does the same thing and it doesn't matter what sound device i'm using either. Audigy 2ZS, Nforce, SBlive all do it on my computer. Every other game runs fine.

I looked in my msconfig and under services I noticed I have my windows audio running. Is this coflicting with my sound card maybe?

This was a big prob when D3 was just released-- disable any temp monitoring of your vid card core. For me it was atitool, that was causing the problem. I haven't seen any other fix to this other than disabling the monitoring, but thats not a really big deal--
