On this episode of [H]orders we discus how many SATA cables is enough... lol.
I personaly keep a roll up toolbox in the garage that shares PC spares and paintball gear. If you dont keep on top of whats out there it can get out of hand quick. I've had to come to the point of making the rule if it wont fit in one of the PCs in the house it has to go, So no more AGP cards, PCI nics, IDE cables etc.

A couple years ago I had to start living by this rule because I would have loads of cables and cards that I couldn't use in any of the PCs in our house. I use to tell myself that one day this old cable might be needed by a friend or family member and I'd just hold onto it.

I don't throw anything away...If I were a woman, I'd retain water, just on principle
 
Same thing happened to me the other day... bought 3 HDMI cables a while back, and now when I need one they are all gone. 360 HDMI cable, I HAVE ONE!... GONE. WTF?!?!? WHERE?!?
