I've been looking at these LCDs, 2405/2005.

It almost seems to me like everyone is trying to justify there switch to an LCD after paying for something they aren't truly happy with.

Lets face it, right now the big battle is the fp2005 Dell LCD and the FW900 refurbished CRT monitor.

Ok that just plain suck ass.

I either have to go LCD and try and justify my shitty gaming experience because it's an LCD - Liquid Crystal Display, DVI, 8ms , and saves deskspace ( who gives a shit about deskspace??? What ... you need something other than a monitor and speakers on your desk? )... yet it still blows ass for intense graphics.

OR

I can take my chances buying a USED CRT.

You know what

Those options SUCK.

Why in the world is there not a better CRT monitor than a used FW900, or a LCD monitor?

I mean... wtf.

I know companies are makiing the switch to LCD, but there has to be a trinitron monitor out there , brand new, by some company thats just as good as a FW900 or the fp2005 LCD screen.

With all the crap I hear people complaining about you would think there would be a decent CRT solution.

I mean hell... I would spend $800 on a good CRT instead of 400 on a LCD that kicked ass. LCD will always suck for games.

So any suggestions for me?

Anyone give a CRT that may be pricey, but will pwn the FW900 and the fp2005?

I only require a 19 inch. If it's bigger, Kudos, if it's 17 inch I can deal.

Any suggestions???

Hell... I like my friends CTX FD Trinitron

I think it totally kicks ass, so if you can find something better than this or equivalent I am happy.

If the fp2005 LCD is better, (I don't see how when dealing with how LCDs refresh, dead pixels and screen door effect, thats just an LCD. ) then maybe I can deal with it.I just don't think LCDs look good for games or preform good.

Thanks!!

Yeap you got me. I regret buying the 2405 and have had 'shitty' gaming ever since. LCDs just suck at gaming! When I post about my 2405 and say that I like it, Im really just trying to justify the purchase.

DAMNIT why did I do that??  /sarcasm

Your whole post could have been summed up like this.... "What is the best 19" CRT out there?" without insulting the people that have LCDs and like them.

LOL Well i have had my new LCD for about 5 days Now i can say i will never go back to a CRT, Yea the first night of gaming i had to adjust too it but i have logged many for the last few days gaming as i have 10 days off, But i play COD 2 and BF2 as far as sucking for gaming, i can't see that with these new ones mine has very little to none as far as blurr or ghosting go's, they play ever bit as good for me and my EYES thank me too :D But if you want the fasest speeds with out any Ghosting then CRT's are better. :D

Bought a NEC FE1250+ CRT for 50 bucks plus shipping. 22in screen with 20inch viewing area. This thing, for the $$$ flat out ROCKS!!!

Playing WoW at 1792x1344 75hz
Color is great. Works great! Best money I ever spent in all the years of upgrading over and over again on puter stuff.

Getting a used CRT, if you take your time and research buyers is a good thing to do, IMO.

Just got a 2405...and at 1920x1200, x4AA, all settings high....COD2 is goooood...

Chances are there is ghosting and what not...but so long as i cant see it, i really could not care :p

I'd almost keep the big one and go for a budget 17"LCD as a secondary or as a "portable/LAN" monitor...
