Don't understand which 9800

a fair bit of improvement from dx8 to 9, also get the bba I am always a fan of the original, not some nock off, however some nocks offs are good.

The sapphire will just come with the card, but if you get the BBA, it will come with accessories...

Personally, I think you should make the decision based on if you want the accessories or not.

Oh, you win. Get the sapphire.

sapphire and BBA is basicly the same exact thing... get the sapphire.

Just get the cheaper one, almost all 9800s are factory ATI cards with maybe a different heatsink and a different bundle. Unless it's a tyan or herc or something with a different PCB design

the oem cards from new egg come with everything that the retail does, just no fancy box.

Thanks a lot guys. Now, should i really spend the $210 for the 9800 Pro? cause i have the Gainward Ti-4200, is it worth the money for the improvement? this is very important

if you want to play doom3 and hl2 and stuff, overclock your processor and get the 9800pro.

I am going to say it isn't worth it right now. I am still using my 8500le and can play most games without issue. Granted I can't play with all the "pretties" on but I am ok with that. I upgraded to a 9600pro and was not impressed at all. So I took that back and am going to wait until the next cards come out, then get a 9800pro once the prices go sub $200....but thats just me. If you just want to be able to play your games you are ok. But if you want to play your games, gawk at the "pretties" and say "I got a 9800pro" then by all means go with the saphire.

Oh and Doom 3 and HL2 aren't even out yet....so who cares about playing those games right NOW.

You can always wait and say "there will be better cards later, why not wait for them?" There will always be better cards about to come out. This card is not a bad deal, so it depends if he is tired playing current games without eye candy or at blazing framerates. If he is satisfied with how his current card performs, then he should probably wait.

I would get the Sapphire since they come with pretty much the same stuff, and hte Sapphire is cheaper.

I've read that sapphire makes a bunch of the BBA cards for ATI. I would go with the Sapphire retail.
