With the release of Modern Warfare, I was hopeful my current rig would run it well enough that I wouldn't need to upgrade.

7700k @ 5Ghz
1080 Founder edition
16gb ram

Well, with 4k and high settings I was getting around 47-52 FPS on average.
Downgrade to 1440p and things are gravy, but I wanted 4k!

Forgot that I wasn't overclocking the card so figured I would try that before spending another 4 hours debating the purchase of a 2080 Super.

+500Mhz on memory
+150Mhz on core

and a few minutes later, I'm a near rock solid 60fps at 4k and most settings maxed out.

So what I'm trying to say, don't drop money if you have other options. :)

Please don't make me feel old.

Here are your pics

I lowered the memory clocks a tad just to be on the safe side. Didn't see any issues at 500mhz, but dropping it to 475 didn't make any difference to my fps
