Done New Build - any thoughts?

After much hand wringing and head scratching, I think I'm finally here.
Just over $1500.00
Started in Mid Feb. for a general all purpose rig with some longevity and Updatability.
Used for a good deal of Photoshop - light gaming - and ROKU / PLEX server with future 3d milling in mind.

Started out inside an older, Case
-Thermal Take Mozart TX maxi-tower with an
-850W ANTECH True Power "semi-modular" PS.

Board/CPU
- ASUS Z170 Mark 1, and- INTEL i7-6700K, with Noctura NH-D14 air cooler- and 11, 120mm Case fans
Memory- 16gb Corsair LPX 400 @ 2300 ghz.
Video- Gigabyte GTX1060-6mb Card (next update)
Display- 32" HP OMEN 2560x1440 5ms

Drives-
B:\LG-Mdisc Blue ray writer - C:\Crucial MX300 525GB SSD - D:\OCZ Agility 160GB SSD - E:\WD-Black 500GB Internal
- F:\WD 500GB External- G:\WD 4TB External- H:\Sabriex Multi card reader

OS- Win7-64 (after, don't ask 4 installs)
After way too much time invested - (my first total build since intel Q6600 on Asus P5-w DH) it is wicked quick and silent.
I am now a happy man for another 6 or so years.

Looks like Ryzen its a really good multi threaded CPU for production software.. good solid future proof.
Also you dont need 800w psu

How old is your Antec power supply? If it's over five years old, I recommend buying a newer one as power supplies degrade in quality over time.

How often do you play games? Which games do you play? A GTX 1060 may be underwhelming for some games at a 1440p resolution.

No point in that.
Get a decent quality 600w and its more than enough even for SLI configs.

A bit over 4 years I think - and I started out on 450w years ago - went to 650w when needed then a cleaner more stable 850. To each his own I guess...

Sorry but AMD just doesn't fit into my life anymore since moving up to Intel a LONG time back...sorry

Not so often as to be a "Gamer" - I do have a life outside the box... but running the gamut of Wolfenstein and COD - and have yet to notice any issues at 1440p - but as I said I don't live and die by games and FPS .

Only if I want a CPU that won't support Windows 7-64.

Well, your fault for building a new system, and shackling it with an 8-year-old OS that lacks native support for USB 3.

Also, I agree that the 6700k is unmatched for what you intend to do with this. Adobe sucks on Ryzen, and gaming has not been exceptionally good. We may see better all-around performance when the native quads get released, but until then there are some quirks in the cache architecture.

Yep I tried that flashy new "10" OS and found it to suck big boxes of donkey dongs. So I went back to the reliable and well established 7-64 so many of us know and still love. So far the results are stellar!
