Yes I have, quite a bit actually, feel free to visit my website. www.maximumhomerdrive.com

Some of those were done on a PII-300 with a Pinnacle DV300 and Premiere 4.1, 128 Megs RAM and a Seagate 'Cuda 9.1 Gig IDE drive, the first IDE drive to spin at 7200 RPM. That system worked very well.

I guess a slow computer can get the job done if need be, but I have to believe you would have been able to at least get the job done quicker with a faster machine.

Here is one of the clips that pegged my computer and basically proved to me that speed is pretty much necessary

It all depends on how long you want to wait for things to happen.

If the original thread poster doesn't want to upgrade his Proc and RAM then he really doesn't have to IMO.

That doens't look all that complex. Faster machine does help when rendering 3D stlye effects.
Here are two animations I made for a compilation video I made back in 96/97.

The above were made with a Pentium 200mmx with a DPS Perception, Speed Razor Mach 3, LightWave 3D V4.1, and a Video Toaster Flyer for the scrolling credits.

And here is an unfinished commercial I was working on back in 96,

This was LightWave 3D 4.1 rendered on the PC and sent to the Video Toaster Flyer where the sound was added to the clip.

wow, I didn't expect this much response, thanks :)

I think if I upgrade I am definitely going to get a gig of ram and another HDD, because you can never have enough space, right? ;)

I don't have enough need for my trivial pursuits to go P4 just for HT and I definitely don't believe I need a Matrox card, but I appreciate the suggestions.

Thanks for all the help!

Yes.. the world famous video toaster : Invented by Brad Carvey (yes, dana's brother) : and now owned by NewTek (the folks behind lightwave 3d..)

BTW, your psu should be plenty

That sounds like a good plan. :)

It's good to get your feet wet with a minimal investment when first starting out anyway.
