So i just recieved the D5 pump and a lot of people on this forum said that 7/16" masterkleer tubing would be perfect. The tubing doesnt even get close to fitting on the D5 pump? ive heated it up and even cut a slit at the end of the tube, thinking i would just tighten it up with a clamp. Nothing worked, not even close to fitting, so i guess im going to go buy 1/2" tubing? will that fit?

uhh where did you buy the D5... it does fit on non-modded d5s.....

if 7/16 doesnt fit than 1/2 wont either..... mostlikey.

post pics

7/16 should just slide onto there. Boiling hot water, and then shove it on. That, or your D5 is really not a D5 and is really a flux capacitor from an alien spacecraft.

cant get pics right now.

Its a Laing D5. with 1/2" Noryl Hosebarb.. It is not even close to fitting over it. It is a new D5 pump from dd. And im pretty sure the tubing is right because i got it over the other 1/2" barbs fine.

edit- i dont even think i could shove it on. I havnt even been able to get it past the "lip" of the barb if that makes any sense.

Lol. Part of the fun is the swearing while trying to fit tubing on. With patience, a lot of time, and enough profanities to make the deaf guy next door wake up in his sleep, you can fit 3/8 over 1/2.

The barbs are shaped something like

____ __
____|__\
_______
____|__/

and it just takes a little bit of time and force to get it over the Lip, ready to clamp.

well, the boiling water did the trick. Burnt my fingers off but it was worth it.. :) now i just have to do it one more time :( heh

Thanks again for putting up with my newbness. I really appreciate your guys' patience.

Is fillport - t - pump - cpu waterblock - radiator and then ending it at pump good?
WCsystem.jpg

Is that right?

And also the 2 120mm fans on the radiator would be mounted on top (its going to be flat on the bottom of the case) of the radiator blowing away from it correct?

Thank you so much for any help

You can also use a cigarette lighter... the plastic does not readily melt... about 10 seconds of gently warming the plastic and it slid right over the D5 barbs. Also worked well with the plastic T I have.. that thing was crazy. I doubt the hose will ever come off of that thing.

I just did all of the above this morning with MasterKleer 7/16". A little love and it works fine.

thanks all!

how does this look?

The outlet goes straight to the cpu which goes to the radiator, than through the T and to the pump.

Also i have 2 120mm fans to put on my radiator, still not sure which way to mount them?

Thanks again for everyones help and patience.
