does your side intake fan interferes with cpu fan?

i just got the xp-90 with 92mm panaflo...i also got a regular 80mm intake on the side.....

now the way my case and setup is is that the intake is blowing directly into the cpu fan....which is blowing out away from the cpu....

is this the way yall have it set up as well? it seems that it would intefere and maybe i should get rid of the side intake....or make it exhaust as well....

Why do you have the fan on your XP-90 blowing upwards? It's supposed to be blowing into the heatsink.

imo flip the panaflow over so it blows that cool air sucked in from the side fan down into your heatsink. At least try it and see what your temps do.

oh....i thought i read in here that most people have it blowing out?

doesnt the stock fan and hs set up to blow out?

right now my idle temps are about 36C-38C on cpu and mobo is about 38C
amd64 3200 no OC

is that about right or should i flip the fan and itll be cooler?

Correct method is CPU fan blows down (quickest way to cool chip) ,
then you have the usually intake and exhaust fans doing there thing.

LOL.. jeez that would've been close. You could've fried your chip if you tried to OC with no fan just a heatsink :-p.

On my old PAL8045 setup, I had the fan blowing out and my temps were 33-35 idle with a 46cfm Delta 80mm ::shrugs:: But that's an Alpha heatsink. I've heard that down is better on Thermalright XP-90's.

Blowing onto the heatsink is a little more efficient, but if you take in to account exhaust fans right beside the cpu fan it can vary case to case. Ethier direction your cpu wont fry itself...
