Well I bought a 360 game from MoggSquad. He told me he shipped it on Monday, and I should get it by Wednesday, well I did not get it, and I messaged him several times. He disappeared from aim, and wont respond to my messages on {H}, and on Xbox Live. I never got a tracking number, because he said USPS does not give tracking numbers, unless you pay extra. Anyways wondering if this is true?

This is true you have to pay for delivery confirmation. As a seller I always provide it to a buyer. Just a common courtesy in my opinion.

That's true if you pick the cheap methods of shipping like first class or parcel.

A delivery confirmation isn't a tracking number either. It's just that. It confirms upon delivery.

Sometimes USPS updates it on arrival to their facilities or upon departure, but not always. This is especially true if you print out the delivery confirmation online (which is free by the way), it does not update but says "electronic shipping information received."

It's only been three days. Priority is 3 days and sometimes even 4 depending on the zone you're in relative to the seller. Today is Thanksgiving and I doubt you will receive any package on Thanksgiving. Friday should be the third day for Priority, so relax... for now.

Priority Mail gives a delivery confirmation number, which he should give you.

If he sent it Parcel Post, he doesn't get delivery confirmation unless he pays extra... and it could be up to two weeks before it arrives.

DC is free when you print an online label, so I have no idea why people wouldn't use it (IMO, unless its something the buyer doesn't mind getting chunked around and taking weeks, always do Priority...)

Unfortunately, in my expierience, all DC does is let you know it was created, and that it was delivered, usually a week after you actually get the package.

Its shipping from Ohio, I should have got it, I live in NY. But you never know. Cheap people these days teh ><.

Usually it gives you some info, like this,
Detailed Results:

  • Delivered, November 16, 2007, 2:51 pm, NORFOLK, VA 23503
  • Notice Left, November 14, 2007, 4:48 pm, NORFOLK, VA 23503
  • Notice Left, November 10, 2007, 10:00 am, NORFOLK, VA 23503
  • Arrival at Unit, November 10, 2007, 6:57 am, NORFOLK, VA 23503
  • Shipment Accepted; November 08, 2007, 3:02 pm, NORFOLK, VA 23501
  • Electronic Shipping Info Received, November 07, 2007

I am kind of PO'd at USPS right now since I have been waiting for another package to arrive since the 13th. The tracking info says Notice left, but I have no notice and I was home when the supposed notice was left.
I was also home at the two times that the supposed Notices were left for the above tracking info. I work from home so I am home all the time during the day.

Have you tried calling your local USPS location to ask about it?

Ive had problems with the USPS in the past and found a quick phone call can save alot of waiting around sometimes.

You package will be delivered before USPS updates........

:p so true. Mine always updated the day after I got something.

If he sent it monday then just hang out for a week atleast. It is a holiday weekend and you can't expect people to be at their computers especially if they have family stuff do do all week.

I called 3 times and went in once. they can't seem to find the package. I think the mailman is probably rocking my Sansa e250 MP3 player.

I do believe that if you paid with Paypal he MUST get Tracking/Delivery Confirmation for the package you bought from him, it's in their TOS...

at least they did do it that way before, but I've noticed recently that the option to add the information for a buyer has dissappeared from the choices..

It's only 50 cents so I don't know what the big deal is as to him giving you the excuse that it costs extra.. and if you ship something priority you get it for 40 cents..

so costing extra for the DC is not an excuse really... just laziness or lying....

If you ever done any trades, even a $20 one, you would be a fool to not get DC. All it costs is $1 or less to add Delivery Confirmation from the USPS, Priority or Parcel Post. If the package never arrives, without the DC, Ppal is most certainly going to give you your money back because the seller can't provide proof it was delivered. I know sometimes money is tight, but it always pays to Insure and DC.

Well, I got his PM, he said if I did not get it on Wednesday, I would have gotten it today. No way to check, I am in New Haven, CT, at my cuzains, so hopefully he is right, I am pretty sure he is. But back to the tracking number thing, you never know what people would do to save a dollar.

i still say chill out about it, maybe if something came up and he was not able to ship monday and got it out tuesday and didnt think it would be a big deal? maybe hes not on the forums and xbox because its thanksgiving? Or hell maybe USPS just sucks? Dont be jumping on his balls because you dont get a game within 3 days. DC means nothing all it says is that a package left from soandso and got to soandso. the dont even update it in real time! chill out.

But back to the tracking number thing, you never know what people would do to save a dollar.
Im guessing by that you payed a shipped price? so say the game cost you 30 dollars shipped, USPS priority starts at 5 dollars and then a padded envlope or a box would cost about 2 bucks and then tax and then DC for another dollar. So thats about 7 bucks to ship a game to you, so hes only making about 23 dollars off a game that he purchased at 60+ tax when it was new. Thats not even half of what he payed for. So you know what he has every right to save that one dollar when hes sure it would arrive.

He didn't ship it Priority Mail.

Parcel Post averages about 4-5 business days. It often takes longer.

So if he shipped it on Monday, you could expect it 4 business days later (Saturday) at the earliest, really. Some time next week is more likely.

If it wasn't sent USPS priority, then no matter how close you are to him, they will deliver when they feel like it within 2 weeks. It is the cheapest, but worse way to ship and next time you should make sure of the delivery method before you send in your money.

Done a lot of trades, have you?

There's no excuse for not getting DC. A seller should consider it a part of the shipping cost on every deal.

That explains it, I did not get it today. Boy are USPS assholes? Is this a free way to ship or something? Why so slow?

It's Parcel Post. It's standard, slow ground shipping. Priority Mail is 2-3 days almost anywhere. Parcel Post is super cheap and... slow.

Your seller totally cheaped out on the shipping. Next time, insist on Priority Mail.
