Does TRIM work over USB3?

SSD drives should use TRIM to keep them fast, but can the SSD use TRIM when it is connected via USB3.
 
I don't think so. The USB3 chipset would have to send the command to the SSD's controller, and I have yet to hear anything about this happening But most good SSDs will have internal garbage collection that will help keep performance up, so the lost of TRIM isn't much of a problem.
