I just finished building my system with an i2500k, and antec kuhler 620.

I have push pull, doing intake on the rad, a top mounted 140mm doing out, and a front mounted 120 doing out

It's idling at 44 ... which is much hotter then I expected, but the motherboard is showing 38 ... and it is really warm where i'm doing the builds (14 computers, rack mounts etc outputs way to much heat :/ lol) I'm sure it is cooling, because if i disconnect the fans on the rad, the temps do rise. I'm just not sure if i'm missing something, or something might not be set right since the 44 does seem high when looking on it's own instead of comparing to motherboard.
 
Hows case Air Flow? Reseat and reapply TIM what happens? Push Down on the Cooler to Temps Rise? What are your ambient temps.
 
air flow is near perfect, There is nothing in the case at all to block the flow yet, as all cables are behind the motherboard, no hard drive, no optical drive, no video card, I kept things as just board cpu and ram for the initial testing.

I've reseated the water block, and it made no diffrence.

I can push down on the block, and it makes no diffrence.

Ambient temps are in mid 30's.
 
If your ambients are in the mid 30 C, then that idling temperature is perfectly reasonable. Typically, idle temperatures on most coolers (besides watercooling setups and phase change setups) are anywhere from 5C to 10C above ambient, or more, depending on cooler used.
 
Don't worry overmuch about idle temps - check the load temps and see how it is.

Well on a powerful system like his anyways, Lol My idle is only 1-2 C warmer, The load temps are what matter.
