I forgot the name of the patch that came out not too long ago for far cry that made the game all pretty and stuff with HD graphics and what not. Whats the name of that patch? and will the X800 XL support it?

They used a 'Nvidia only' way of doing HDR, so no, X800XL doesn't support it. The upcoming Half-life2 'Ati-levels' will show HDR for Ati cards.

I hope the HL2 Version will show much better performance. I love AA and couldnt stand not having it on like all the owner of the 6800s are talking about.

Nvidia way of HDR.........it's called Pixel Shader 3.0

ATi cards support a kind of HDR. OpenEX HDR is what the 6000 series Nvidia GPU's support. It's different.

But to say that ATi cards can't do HDR isn't true. In Farcry only the Nvidia cards can do it because Farcry uses OpenEX HDR. Which no other cards support outside the 6000 series. And while we are on the subject, I've tried it on a 6600GT and it wasn't playable. It's barely playable on higher end 6800 series GPU's. So it's cool, but unless you've got a really high end machine it isn't usable.
