Does the DPC latency issue still affect NVidia Cards?

I remember having a GTX 285 and not being able to listen to music with my onboard sound while playing a game utilizing the GPU until I bought a X-Fi PCIe Card because of DPCLatency.
Does this issue affect the GTX 4xx's as well? What about ATi Cards?
 
I would imagine it wouldn't affect the 400 series cards since they have a built in realtek dedicated audio chip, so do the 5000 series cards from ati. I can't be 100% sure because quite frankly you shouldn't have had that problem to begin with so I'm betting it was something else (probably related to the onboard audio or windows).
 
Only with a GF104 and older chipsets (P35/P45/X38/X48 etc.) some people had DPC latency problems. LINK.
The last 259.47 driver from MS Update improved the situation and there are rumors that in the next nVidia driver will be made other improvements as well.
