I need a pci video card and I was thinking about getting the 9250. I don't want the 5700le because I don't have that much to spend. I was wondering does the 9250 support directx 9 and if it does can someone give me a link to a site with a good price on a 128bit 128mb version of one if not I'm gonna get the fx5500.

get the 5500..... the 9250 I believe is slower than the 9200 :p

yes..... it is fine for anything at that res. and ur not even gaming so yes.. it can push that high res. through DVI pretty well.

Unfortunately, the Radeon 9250 has no hardware support of DirectX 9 features. You can run DirectX 9 on a system equipped with a Radeon 9250 - but anything that requires DirectX 9-specific features will be emulated in software, which will be detrimental to the system's performance and cause increased unnecessary CPU utilization. As a matter of fact, the Radeon 9250 is only a DirectX 8.1-generation GPU.
