Does the 193P have the screen door effect?

Would current Samsung 193P owners consider that their LCD has the dreaded screen door effect to any signficant degree?

I am trying to compare it to the Viewsonic and Dell 20" models which people claim have it.

I have never seen it on mine.

I think possibly every LCD monitor has some sort of 'screen door effect'.

I can definitely see the grid of pixels on a white background on my 193P but don't know how bad it is compared to the VP201S/B or 2001FP.

The white background is not pure white but you can see many little squares.

I believe I have seen that on every LCD. The 19" is bad because of the larger pixel pitch. It is not as noticeable on a 17" I believe.

Be careful you don’t confuse seeing actual pixels with screen door effect. If you stick your nose right up against your monitor your going to see pixels. If those pixels are outlined, that’s screen door effect. It’s very visible at any distance (well, not across the room) and should not be there.

If you put up a white screen and from 12” or so you see crosshatch patterns, that’s a bad thing. ;)

I can see pixels on a white background from over a foot away. The white is not smooth like on a CRT. I think that is noticeable on any LCD.

I still don't know if that's 'screen door' or not. I see a definite grid of pixels but I don't think there are lines or squares around the dots.
