Hi, setting up a couple computers that have to run reg ecc ram, I will be running WCG on these, will there be any real difference between ddr2 667 and ddr2 800?

hey black@blue - In my experiences there will be little or no difference between these speeds. Having said that, this is a little difficult to say for sure as every different WCG project might be a little different. I have never run CEP2, but see as that project requires a lot of RAM my gut feeling would be that this project might be more sensitive to RAM speeds. Maybe someone else that has run that particular project can comment.

Thanks for contributing to the cause!

The amount of ram used can vary from project to project I found Roseta to need quite a bit of ram on my 4P it used 30% of 32GB of ram and was sensitive to ram speed and timings the faster the better.

I feel the ram well be ok after everyone's input. To start with i'll have 2 mobo's with 2x six core 1.8ghz for a total of 24 cores, gonna keep my eye out for 2.6 or 2.8 cpu's but my budget is so tight it'll have to be a great deal. This is gonna be a jump up for me so i.m pretty excited and to be doing FAH on my main rig with WCG on these well be sweet.

HPF2 (Rosetta on WCG) uses 80-100MB on Win7 64-bit. I'm running HPF2 on all of my boxes right now. Seeing runtimes in the 6-8 hour range.
