Got my CL56 that came with PC2300 (mwave said it comes with PC2100). I only got 128 mb because I planned to buy it elsewhere to save money + get faster stuff.

I bought 1 GB of PC2700 on a FS/FT forum, just installed it memtest86 shows 0 errors. And the Pentium runs at 100 MHz FSB. Memtest86 is showing testing the memory at 100 mhz. (although CPU-Z reports memory as 166 mhz)

Does this make any difference? Would sticking to PC2100 decrease performance in any way? Thanks

The Pentium M runs at 100MHz QDR FSB (3.2GB/s bandwidth). Yes, PC2700 does help the Pentium M if you have a chipset that supports PC2700.

The i855PM supports PC2700 memory. The i855GM (integrated graphics version) does not.

Too bad PC3200 SODIMMs aren't a JEDEC standard yet. That would be a perfect match for the 400MHz FSB P-Ms.

edit: fixt typo

Safe to say the memory is running at full speed?
