If so.....

OPENMOSIX 2.6 IS OUT!!!!!

Well, almost....

I just downloaded a beta for it. It didn't even compile, but hey atleast they are working on it.

I say two years late is better than never. Right?

Hey, if every version of Windows counts, a year or two late is no problem. :p

And I would hope openmosix can count, otherwise what would you use it for?

BTW guys, can't run FAH on an openmosix cluster very well. It acts like one big machine (more or less) and thus you can only run up to 8 instances due to FAH's 8 machineid limitation.

Is folding at home multithreaded? If so then it should work well with the 2.6 versoin of OM becouse it finally supports multiple threads.. (as it should have for a long time now) Meaning that OM can finally distribute individual threads, rather than processes..... It can still do processes too ...

Nope, it's a single thread and a single process. Too bad, since it means you need 2 copies on duallies (but not HT machines, they're a special case). If stanford really multithreaded it, it'd be really cool - you could just install one copy on a cluster and be done with it.

As long as the cluster kept good track of what process was using what memory, of course.
