Does illumos support WOL, it looks like the Simerec ir I was using has died, I have changed my bios settings and enabled "Wake on onboard lan" but I guess I need to enable the wake on lan on the adaptor as well but not sure how to do that in Omnios.

I had a quick look around under network in Napp-it but couldn't see anything in there.

Oracle Solaris is an enterprise server OS. WoL is a home item.
While the free Solarish forks like OmniOS are now a perfect home filer option as well, it remains a server solution where the server is always on or you use IPMI to power on/off.

I guess this "might" be helpful to know, that not all is lost with running OmniOS at home and wanting to use WoL. At least in some cases it works. I just tried it with my OmniOS (ce) r151028 which is running on HP ProLiant ML110 Gen 5 hardware. I used Nir Sofer WoL utility and it worked instantaneously.
