does having hyperthreading on help or hurt in overclocking the cpu and playing games?

some people have gotten slightly higher overclocks with HT disabled.

I read some posts in other forums and they got aquamark scors of: 44197 with it off and 45395 wit hit enabled.

Not really a cpu stress test, but you get the point.
