i am looking at two pairs of headphones and want to know if there will be a big difference between one pair that is 42mm drivers and one that has 50mm. the 42mm one looks better and comfyer so i want to get that, but not if it will make that big of a difference.

You have to listen to them or read reviews of the two models.

What are they?

You can't rate on driver size alone. Assuming exactly the same components throughout, exactly same build quality, etc., then you *might* be able to give the nod to the larger drivers without testing----but I wouldn't.

headphones are one of those things you do not want to buy without trying out first. Unlike a pair of speakers, these things actually are sitting on your head/ears, and you need to know how that is going to work out.
