Does Doom 3 get any more difficult?

Im about 2.5 hours in (Alpha Labs Sector 2) playing on medium and tghe game is DAMN easy. Ive never been even close to death yet, and there is health every 2 rooms. Does it get harder, or should i just bite the bullet and restart now (for more difficulty?).

It jdoes get a little more difficult, but i've only logged about 6 hours in the game so far. I have to agree though, medium is easy (there was a time when i ran out of ammo). I'll play it through, and the next time i play (when i can upgrade my videocard), i plan on playing it on hard.

You have to play it hard from the beginning fools. I cried when I finished System Shock 2 because I could never experience the game the same way again. Wish it had been longer... P.S. I'm a geek.

I skipped all the lower difficulties and jumped right to Veteran... I'm really enjoying it on that difficulty setting as it is indeed challenging. Just a few hits and your dead and ammo is pretty scarce at times. I'm to Alpha Labs and have used the shotty almost exclusively so far. Just picked up the chaingun from the martianbuddy.com cabinet.

Yeah Alpha Labs is easy. I've died a few times in Enpro but it's still easy once you know where the attacks come from. It looks like it's going to get a lot harder though.

im stuck in alpha labs sector 4 now, how the hell do i get to that rotating walkway? ive killed all the enemies and im just walking through every little section and i cant find anythign

After reading others posts the last few days, I started on veteran level because I have played all the other Doom games so I felt experienced enough to start on veteran. It is difficult at times, more enemies I think and I found myself looking for health all the time and ammo too! Just look in every corner for stuff and behind crates to find ammo and health kits.

Wonder if it's possible to take your saves, and somehow use them after changing the difficulty level. I to am finding it fairly easy right now (like 3 levels past alpha labs, communications?).

I wish there was a way to up the difficulty midgame. I'm playing on Marine, and although it's fun, I've yet to die (cept once when I ran off a ledge on accident) and I've never run out of ammo. I"ve not really even gotten close. I did almost die once, and that was against...*SPOILER*

That telekinetic spider lady Boss.

*END SPOILER*

And the only reason for that was because I went in there with 50% health (stupid me). I want more challenge. Oh well, it'll give me a reason to play it again on Nightmare :D

I completed the game at Veteran, and it was only hard after Hell. Before that, I always had plenty of ammos (200+ shotgun shells), and rarely looked for life. I died a few times, mostly because of not being careful enough.

Nightmare is another story though. Your health goes down to 25, which means that pretty much every hit is one-hit-kill. However, I found a little something to make it a lot easier, mostly early in the game. *SPOILER* Stop reading.. this is a spoiler.. You can get.. the Soul Cube.. --- SPOILER----... early in the game.. just kill the right person.. yep, it kills pretty much everything in one hit. ... *END OF SPOILER***

The game is way too hard at nightmare. I wish there was a mode between veteran and nightmare, as one-hit-kills are far from fun.

I just beat the 3rd boss, on marine, and I would say the game is pretty easy as long as you're paying attention, there were a few points where I died from walking off cliffs and letting stuff comepletly surround me while they do their melee attacks, but for the most part it's the rightweapon for the right time.

Play on Veteran. I got to alpha labs 3 on Marine but then re-started on a higher diffaculty since I hadnt even dropped below 90 hp. Even on Veteran I've only died once and rarely drop below 85hp.

OMG, brace yourselves... I just died on Marine

Was just after the creepy bald guy talks to you and tells you how he's gonna invade earth, then the mobs of stuff start spawning. I got overrun b/c I wasn't ready for that many enemies. Still in hunter mode instead of "kill anything that moves" mode.

Does it get scary  im in alpha labs 2 and so far nothing has scared me theres always a noise or a light flickers to let you know something is about to happen I keep thinking im gonna hear something behind me look see nothing turn back around to find a big ass demon face to face with me but it hasnt happened yet :(

That will happen... a lot. Alpha labs 2 is still reeeally early. I don't think you've probably even seen a pinky yet, or a lost soul, or a trite. You'll have stuff sneaking up on you all the time by the time you're halfway through the game. I jump all the time, even though I know there's gonna be something there.

When you get to Delta 4, things start to get a little trickier. It was also the first time in the game I got my ass handed to me.

Yeah. It gets tricky when you are getting raped by 5 Imps with only 3 shotty shells.

Im just now seeing the spider things and I've killed two pinky's so far

i suck, i havent' played a game in ages, and i died early on on medium. But i came back with a vengeance :)

Yeah, where I'm at I just fought 2 pinkies at the same time, and while I was doing that one apparently spawned behind me, so I turn around and BAM, I get rocked. Didn't die, but those things will knock you around. That kinda humbled my "who's da man" chanting. ;)

I'm up to Alpha Labs 4 on Recruit and I'm pretty much stuck. I've got those spider looking things coming out of the woodwork and the only ammo I have is a couple pistol rounds and grenades. It's absolutely impossible to kill them all with what little I have. Out of curiosity, how far into the game is AL4?

I always used the pistol on trites. 2 pistol rounds and they're dead. Waste of ammo to do anything else.

does it get easier.... ur the biggest ego cock bite I ever seen go lie some more then play in traffice.

Just played it on Marine. I really should have started played in veteran.

It does get harder though - Hell is much tougher, and the levels after are harder.

Still though, I only died a couple times, and I beat the final boss the first time I tried, so I guess I'd recommend you start over.

man im feeling lame.. after Alpha Lab 4 in Marine im sorta stuck with ammo..hrm..

How the hell did you beat her? GRanted, I have 19 plasma rounds, and no chain gun ammo, but I've hit here with everything else and a few grenades and I'm still getting me ass handed to me. Playing on veteran btw.
