does CPU load largly affect GPU folding?

Hi guys

I finally got myself a new GPU (Ati 4670, 512 MB) and noticed that FAH still draws substantially on the CPU. However, I am running BOINC on both cores, too. Do you see a substantial difference for the GPU client when the CPU is already under load? I only returned 7 WUs so far, so I don't have any stats on that myself yet.

Anyway, once the BOINC SETI client is done I will have to leave you guys again, since I will be on SETI for 10 years in May :)
 
If you want to get the max production out of your GPU you wil want to make sure you set the priority to "Slightly Higher" in the GPU2 configuration. This will give CPU priority to feed your GPU yet let it use all the rest of the cycles for BOINC.

Are you on the HardOCP Seti team or some other team? Either way thanks for stopping by and contributing in those DC projects. While your here you may want to check out the DC Vault thread. cpu usage will effect the gpu client using an ATI card to fold with.. for nvidia it wont.. i really hope they fix that problem because id like to use my 4870 to fold with but until then its just not worth the amount of electricity it will use since id only be able to use 1 core on my cpu to run boinc..
