I come from being an AMD user for many years, but just recently upgraded to an e4300.

Never thought to ask until now; does the core2duo need the microsoft dual core hotfix for winxp pro 32-bit?
 
The only dual core m$ patch I know of really applies to notebook machines. You can read about it in the m$ kb; it's KB896256. I dunno if it helped, but I did install it on my machine.
