Just checking to see if I can install Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro. I bought the laptop this summer it's the 2009 unibody macbook pro. Does bootcamp support windows 7 yet?

Okay.. boot camp is telling me that it can not format the partition because some files are in use. It wants me to back the computer up, reformat to a single disk, and then try it again. Any other ways besides going this route? I'm sure that doing this would take 3-4 hours to do.. ? There must be some easier way.. does anyone know offhand?

I'm not sure about your particular problem, but Boot Camp does support Windows 7. People have been using Windows 7 on their Macs since the W7 Beta, using the previous version of Boot Camp. There were some issues, like the LED back-lit keyboard not being able to turn off completely, and an issue with the audio-in/headphone jack. However, last week Apple released the latest version of Boot Camp with "official" support for Windows 7. There's a few posts about it in the Apple section.

Thanks, checking it out now.. maybe installing the new version itself will help out.

I have something like 60 gigs at least that are free on the drive.

I tried doing it, but it wanted me to back it up with time machine and then reinstate the drive or something crazy.. too much work just to enjoy a few small games on this macbook =\

Sounds like a problem I had recently with boot camp on a new 27" iMac, I ended up booting of the OSX install disk and using Disk utility to repair the disk, I was then able to partition and install Windows 7 (however I couldn't complete the install because apparently due to a bug I need to purchase a Display port adapter for a second screen etc...)
