Does BF1942 Just suck for benchmarking?

I can run the Doom 3 time demo at 76fps high quality 1024x768 8x AF, yet I drop below 50 FPS on BF1942 playing normal/flying etc on high quality at 1024x768..... but ive seen other benchmarks that say its like over 200 frames with a 5900XT... So whats up with that? I can do the D3 time demo at normal specs, yet BF seems to just suck ass hovering between 50-80 FPS

P4 3.0 @ 3.15 (yeah uber OC)
BFG 6800 GT OC at stock 370
Asus P4C800e-deluxe mobo
1gb corsair xms memory dual channel @ 210

so yeah.. back to the matter at hand.... does BF1942 just suck? will BF2 perform as bad as that? I was hoping to play that game all maxed out when it came around too :( argh matey
 
BF is mostly outdoors so its no supprise that it does not perform like D3.
 
Hmm ok... but ive seen benchmarks with similar systems to mine and they get like 200 FPS on an older 5900XT or 5950 Ultra.

good results on one thing vs bad on another makes me think somethings wrong with my computer somewhere, just posting to see if someone else knows if its not.
