Does ATi Cat drivers support multi threading such as duel CPU?

I though I heard somewhere that nVidia supported multi-processor / duel core systems. Does anyone have any clue if ATi does? I mean they put out the FireGL line of cards that are for 3D rendering not just gaming and I would think they get put into multi CPU platforms all the time and it would make since to add in the ability. But have they done this with thier Radeon / CAT drivers??
 
Im fairly certain drivers dont work the same way applications do. If the OS supports SMP then I believe any drivers that work with the OS do as well.

Just a guess though...
 
If you can find that article again, could you post it? I'm curious how much the processor speed directly impacts the video card. CPU bottlenecks only applies on how efficiently the application using the card is written, not actual video performance AFAIK. Unless there're still some things that are being rendered in software.
