I am a {H}ardcore gamer and need to install another AV in my new system. I have 1 gig of mem to play with. DOes Panda use a lot of resources?

You say "another" which insinuates the existance of an antivirus already on the system. Is there any reason why you want/need the reduntant protection? Two AV programs will be a serious detriment to your system's performance, especially in games.
AFAIK, though, Panda is good but there are better ones for the money. Norton Corporate is excellent, as is AVG Pro.

Edit: I'm pretty sure BitDefender is really good with system resources. I used it a few years ago and I loved it but had to stop using it because of a REALLY obnoxious memory leak. I'm sure that has been fixed since then.
