does anyone know if the dell Perc 5/E will work in non dell servers?

I am in desperate need of an MD1000 and it requires only a perc 5/e

I just wanted to make sure I can run the Perc 5/e in a non dell server along with openmanage administrator

the server is a custom built rackmount with server 2003 enterprise running.

It's got PCI-Express and I want to make sure I don't get all this stuff and openmanage decides to be stupid and say "not supported on non dell servers"

that would be very bad.
 
The card should work fine. As far as open manage goes though I have no clue.
