Does anyone know a 27" that does 16X12?

i dont even think those exist. you would have to get a widescreen 1920 x 1080 display. those r pretty expenisve, but the westinghouse is around $1600 so its good for the money. or you could get a 2405fpw 4 like 750 now, but its under 27 inches
I can't go back below 27". I have a 27" syntax olevia and it is too big and beautiful to go back. My only beef with it is 1280 X1024 max at 60hz is the best it can do. Cost was $1000 a year ago. Would love to see what HL2 looks like at 27 inches - 1600X1200 @70hz would pay 2-3K for it. Have heard bad things about westinghouse you know of a model # ?

nowadays, most big lcds are widescreen only. that means the resolutions for lcd tv's are gonna be 1280x720, 1366x768 or sumthin like that, 1920x1080.
for monitor resolutions 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200
just google westinghouse and look for their 37in model. its a surpisingly pretty good monitor. if you are going to connect it to ur pc, use dvi 1. dvds movies with a dvd player using component inputs looked surprisingly good. its not as good as a FAT crt monitor but impressive for an lcd. the 37in is slower than the 2405fpw, but that's a given considering the monitor's size.

have you checked out the new Samsung thin crts?
Never heard of it. Given that i want 27 inches, I ruled out CRT thought it would way too big of a machine.
